Copa del Rey: Barcelona – Real Madrid (25/01/2012)

Time for the second game of Copa del Rey quaterfinal between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. After winning 2:1 at Santiago Bernabeu Catalans are hot favorites to progress to the next round but with Gran Derbi you can’t be sure about the result.

Both teams easily won their weekends game in Primera Division. This means that Real still has 5 points advantage over their closest rivals. And for Jose Mourinho winning La Liga is priority. However it looks that not all is going so great for big Jose in Madrid. The rumor says that he is fed up with all the stars at Madrid and is missing UK football. With all that it’s quite likely he will quit Real after this season. And a great way to quit would be after winning the league.

With this all it’s not really likely that Real will fight to dead to get a win at Camp Nou.

Wouldn’t bet on this game but Ladbrokes is offering a money back if Cristiano Ronaldo scores at any time. Worth taking a bet on Messi to score at any time with 3.50 odds.

Primera Division: Real Madrid – Athletic (22/01/2012)

Real Madrid has again failed to beat FC Barcelona in the El Classico. What is more Jose Mourinho stars have lost again at their own stadium and they are surely not favorites to qualify to next stage of Copa del Rey with the second game played in Camp Nou.

Before Real can again face Barca they will need to play their league game against Athletic. I could be a bit afraid that a game between two Gran Derbi clashes will not get a 100% focus from Galacticos but it all looks that Mourinho and especially his players know that league is their priority and even with losses against Barca they can get enough points to win title.

Injury news:
Athletic: Gabilondo, Ocio, Gurpegui, Castillo – out
Real: Khedira out, Di Maria – not likely to play

Copa del Rey: Real Madrid – FC Barcelona (18/01/2012)

So the time has come for another Gran Derbi this year. Actually with the Copa del Rey quarterfinals we will see 2 of those with first one played at Santiago Bernabeu on 18/01/2012 with the rematch at Camp Nou on 25/01/2012.

It’s always hard to predict the winner of this clash of titans, but with the home advantage Real is small favorite of this first leg. Their last game ended with a 1:3 loss so they should be even more motivated to get something better. Still Mourinho can make some unpredictable surprises to shock Barca as their Primera Division campaign is priority. Mourinho already won Copa del Rey last year and he is surely focusing on league now. With this he can even play his second choice team just to make some impact on Barca morale.

With all this in mind and a second leg coming I’m not counting on many goals here.

Primera Divsion: Mallorca – Real Madrid (14/01/2012)

We all still remember last Grand Derbi in which Barcelona has beaten Real Madrid 3:1 at Santiago Bernabeu. We all are waiting for the next one that will come very soon in Copa del Rey. But for now let’s on La Liga and coming Mallorca game.

Mallorca doesn’t really look to be a team that could stop Galacticos. With only 19 points from 17 games the host team is 14th in La Liga table and it doesn’t look likely this situation can be improved against Real.

Mallorca did play very well in their last cup game when they smashed Real Sociedad 6:1. But their Primera Division performance is not that impressive.  They’ve draw their last game against Levante and lost 0:2 against Sociedad just 2 weeks before this heavy 6:1 beating in cup. One could assume it all means a growing form but it would be just too optimistic assumption.

Real since loosing against Barca won their all games winning twice in Copa against Ponferradina and Malaga and in La Liga against Sevilla and Granada.

Primera Division: Real Madrid – Granada CF (07/01/2012)

Real Madrid is coming back to Primera Division action this weekend with a home game against Granada FC. After loosing the Gran Derbi against Barcelona Jose Mourinho knows he can’t afford loosing points against such rivals as Granada especially at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real beaten Malaga in earlier in the week and secured its way into quarterfinals of Copa del Rey in which we are all expecting another great Gran Derbi.

Granada is not doing great in La Liga, but still managed to climb to 13th position, but the points differences in the bottom are really small and a likely loss in Madrid will probably mean  a drop to 15th. Still not that bad.

Odds for clear 1 are obviously very low. Real should be able to score a few goals so a handicap -2.75 looks ok with 1.63 from bet365.

Champions League: Real Madrid – Dinamo Zagreb 22/11/2011

In their first game in Champions League Real Madrid managed to get 3 points with a quite lucky 1:0 win after a goal from di Maria and a red card from Marcelo.

What is interesting this game was the best performance from Dinamo, that loosed their other games against Ajax (2:0 and 4:0) and Olympique Lyon (2:0).

This time it will be much more difficult for Dinamo as they will face all the Mourinho stars at Santiago Bernabeu.

It is quite likely that with the Real with already secured qualification and after a hard game against Valencia in Primera Division will rest a few players. But that just means that the ones that will take the field will fight even harder to prove that they are worth a place in starting line up.

Odds for Real win are obviously low… so we had to take some other options. With Real scoring potential but also with their potentially relaxed approach for this game over 3.25 goals seems to be a decent bet.

Over 3.25 goals with 1.57 from Victor Chandler.
